About
Nicholas Schmidt was educated in Art History at Concordia University where he studied the history, theory, and criticism of twentieth-century art and architecture, focusing on minimalism’s redefinition of space and its transformation of the viewer’s relationship to the art object and architectural space.
He served as Creative Director for catalog:three (2021–2024) and was Head of Design at Sporty & Rich (2019–2021). As Senior Designer at Saintwoods (2018–2024), he led spatial design for hospitality and retail projects while also delivering visual strategy and design across a diverse client portfolio.
Our previous clients have included Aidan Matthews, Apt.200, Asics, AWGE, Basic.Space, catalog:three, Clarks, Edition Hotels, END., Four Seasons, Garage, Helmut Lang, Highsnobiety, Holt Renfrew, MURAL Festival, ONDO, Red Bull, Retrosuperfuture, Saintwoods, Selfridges, Sporty & Rich, SSENSE, The Webster, Throwing Fits, TikTok, and Veuve Clicquot.
In 2025, the studio remains deeply engaged in the strategic and aesthetic formation of ONDO, an innovative platform advancing trust and transparency in the art market through tokenized provenance and catalogue raisonné systems. A select group of blue-chip artists and estates have already committed to safeguarding their legacies through this emerging protocol.
